MYCOHAB - world's first mycotectural structure
Mycohab is the world’s first self supporting mycelium structure. The structural walls are made from the byproduct of mushroom cultivation
FROM BUSH TO STRUCTURE
The structure of the walls were made of compressed mycelium composite with compressive strengths of 6MPa that was grown on invasive bush.
Regenerative Manufacturing.
12 tons of invasive bush was turned into 3 tons of gourmet mushrooms that went to market and the byproduct was turned into 925 mycoblocks that stored 12 tons of COe and regenerated over a hectare of land
Low impact skins
Just like wood products mycoterials should be faced with exterior materials - here we see the mud plaster used to finish mycohab.
Axonometric
The components for Mycohab were selected to be regenerative (as in the mycoterials) or recyclable (metals)
